New BIG B
Thursday, April 2, 2009
Studies have showed that xylitol gums, toothpastes and candies could
help develop fewer dental cavities than those receiving either placebo
or no treatment. Xylitol may prevent cavities by inhibiting
the growth of the Streptococcus mutans bacteria. A double-blind
placebo-controlled study of 1,677 children showed that xylitol-
enriched toothpaste user developed significantly fewer cavities than
those used the floride-only toothpaste over a three year period.
While, a double-blinded study showed that the effect of xylitol on
developing fewer cavities was in a dose-dependent fashion.
Researchers from Thailand found xylitol chewing gums could effectively
reduce the levels of mutans streptococci in plaque and saliva in a
study of 91 children, aged 10-12. Researchers from Finland
discovered that use of erythritol and xylitol was associated with a
statistically significant reduction in the plaque and saliva levels of
mutans streptococci from a study of 136 teenagers.
EAR INFECTION
Studies have shown that xylitol (in chewing gum) could be a
preventive measure for middle ear infections
OSTEOPOROSIS / BONE HEALTH (RESORPTION)
Studies have shown that dietary xylitol supplementation diminishes
bone resorption in rats, as well as protects against ovariectomy-
induced increase of bone resorption during experimental
osteoporosis. 10% xylitol combined with 10% ethanol seems to be
more effective on diminishing bone resorption and to increase bone
mineral density and content in rats.
SKIN HEALTH / AGING
Dietary xylitol has been shown to increase the amounts of newly
synthesized collagen, and to decrease fluorescence of the
collagenase-soluble fraction in the skin of both healthy and diabetic
rats. As in diabetic rats, a decreased rate of collagen synthesis and
increased collagen fluorescence has also been detected in the skin of
aged rats.
ANTI-CANCER
Sahni PS et al at Indiana University suggested that xylitol is both
noncariogenic and anticariogenic. They believe that the ability of
xylitol to act as an anticariogenic agent is related to its ability to be
transported into caries-causing oral bacteria and inhibiting
fermentation.
XYLITOL SIDE EFFECTS
Xylitol appears to be safe. Limited xylitol side effects have been
reported. In general. Inhalation of aerosolized iso-osmotic xylitol is
well-tolerated by naive and atopic mice, and by healthy human
volunteers.
However, overdose of xylitol may cause serious side effects such as
stomach discomfort, diarrhea, oral erosive eczema or even acute renal
failure. Infusion of xylitol may cause renal oxalosis.
Oral consumption of a large quantity of xylitol-containing gum was
found to induce severe hypoglycemia, collapse and seizures in a 9-mo-
old neutered male Labrador Retriever. In dogs, xylitol is a strong
promoter of insulin release and can cause severe hypoglycemia with
ataxia, collapse and seizures. In humans, xylitol has little to no effect
on plasma insulin or glucose levels
Bad effects of chewing too much bubble gum
Chewing gum producers don't always face an uphill battle against negative news stories. They frequently remind consumers that their products do not contain any ingredients that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration has not approved for sale.
In 1928, Walter Diemer was working as an accountant for the Fleer Chewing Gum Company in Philadelphia; what he wound up doing in his spare time was playing around with new gum recipes. But this latest batch was less sticky than regular chewing gum and it stretched more easily. His bubble gum was so successful that it sold over a million and a half dollars worth of gum in the first year.

In 1928, bubble gum was invented by a man named Walter E. Diemer. Here's what Walter Diemer, the inventor himself, said about it just a year or two before he died: "It was an accident." "I was doing something else," Mr. Diemer explained, "and ended up with something with bubbles." And history took one giant pop forward. What Mr. Diemer was supposed to be doing, back in 1928, was working as an accountant for the Fleer Chewing Gum Company in Philadelphia; what he wound up doing in his spare time was playing around with new gum recipes. But this latest brew of Walter Diemer's was -- unexpectedly, crucially -- different. It was less sticky than regular chewing gum. It also stretched more easily. Walter Diemer, 23 years old, saw the bubbles. He saw the possibilities. One day he carried a five-pound glop of the stuff to a grocery store; it sold out in a single afternoon.
Before long, the folks at Fleer were marketing Diemer's creation and Diemer himself was teaching cheeky salesmen to blow bubbles, to demonstrate exactly what made this gum different from all other gums. The only food coloring in the factory was pink. Walter used it. That is why most bubble gum today is pink.
Gilbert Mustin, President of Fleer named the gum Dubble Bubble and it controlled the bubble-gum market unchallenged for years, at least until Bazooka came along to share the wealth. Walter Diemer stayed with Fleer for decades, eventually becoming a senior vice president. He never received royalties for his invention, his wife told the newspapers, but he didn't seem to mind; knowing what he'd created was reward enough. Sometimes he'd invite a bunch of kids to the house and tell them the story of his wonderful, accidental invention. Then he'd hold bubble-blowing contests for them.new gum!

bigb creates a new bubble gum called bubblegum.
Bubblegum is a type of chewing gum especially designed for blowing bubbles. Bubblegum is available in many different colors and flavors. The most common flavor is the distinctive one also known as "bubblegum", which is traditionally colored a light shade of pink.
Bubblegum tends to be more viscous than standard chewing gum: this facilitates bubble blowing. Some brands are designed to be non-sticky so they do not stick to one's face. Examples include Big League Chew, Bubble Yum, Bazooka, Hubba Bubba, Dubble Bubble, and Bubblicious. In North America, the United Kingdom and Australia, bubblegum is often dispensed in gumball machines. Bubblegum can also be found and sold in stores.

Child Labour
Hey customers! BIG B want to do an announcement.
As we all know that child labour is a serious and discussed matter all over the world. Children all over the world are suffering because they have to work for long hours and they are exploited. They have to help their families to earn more money. There was a research that says 'about 7/10 of the children population are exploited to work. They can't go to school and they have no life. They usually work in small ages because their parents are probably disable or their parents themselve exploit their own children. Is it a sad thing? Yes, it is!
So, this is the reason BIG B have decided to make a charity or bazaar. It will be held on the 9th of February untill the 28th of February. There will be all types of foods, drinks, bubble gums, snackes, sweets and games. All the children and the adults are allowed to come here.
The fund from this charity will be donated to help these children who need our help.
